I read a fascinating article by Matt Siegel and Rujun Shen called Long search looms for Malaysia jet, families renew protests. Ships and aircrafts are searching a very large area in the Indian Ocean for any remains of what could be flight MH370. The chief of the China Maritime Search and Rescue Center told the Xinhua state news agency nothing that could be traced back to the plane had been found on Sunday and that the Chinese will broaden their search.
Several objects have been found by the Australians in the southern region of the Indian ocean after they moved their search 1,100 km after a radar and satellite confirmed seeing objects in the ocean. Nothing was able to confirm that it belonged to flight MH370, though.
The US Navy concluded that it would be very hard to find without a general area on where the plane crashed or landed. Without that detail, they would have to search the whole Indian Ocean, use a radar, and map the bottom of the whole ocean. It would take a massive amount of time, but is actually possible.
An Australian defense force ship has been added to the ship, carrying along with it
"sophisticated U.S. black box locator and an underwater drone." Malaysia said that the plane going from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, was most likely run off course on purpose.
This sounds like an interesting article. I have also been wondering what the real cause of the unfortunate crash and your article was helpful with collecting some of the ideas as to where the plane debris could possibly be.
ReplyDeleteThis article is really interesting and I have heard about it a lot also. Keep up the great work.
