The Great Gatsby's mansion was used for insurmountable parties where men and women came in and out early and often on the weekends. In this case these were taking place in the duration of the summer. This caught Nick's attention. The people that came to his house always wanted to use the wealthy items he obtained such as cars, boats, and his pool. At the party there was always plenty of food to eat and incredibly, he even had orchestras perform at them.
Eventually Nick finally receives an invitation from the Gatsby himself, one of the rare invitations that anyone ever receives. While at the party Nick tries to find him but doesn't for a very long time until the end. Before he does, he mingles with Jordan. After he does so he finally turns into a conversation with the Gatsby not even knowing it was him.

Music Speaks
Today in class we read an article from the columnist packet by the title of Man of the Streets, in Three Suites. This story really spoke to me, it shows many sides of the world and our society today. One being that when we as people are caught doing something wrong, we go on the offensive and try to take the spotlight off of ourselves. Such as when the man was smoking in the wrong spot and Nathaniel corrected him. So the man started making fun of Nathaniel. Rather than retaliating, Nathaniel simply shrugged his shoulders and stood for what he believed was right.
Another point id like to make is that no matter who you are or what you have to overcome, you can do anything you want if you just set your mind to it and out forth the required effort to accomplish such task. Nathaniel had Schizophrenia yet was able to still play phenomenal music and impress a man (his tutor) who plays for the Los Angeles Philharmonic. As long as you set your mind to it you can accomplish anything you want to.

The Great Gatsby (continued: pt.2)
When talking about the valley of Ashes, a billboard is oddly yet graspingly noticed in very intricate detail describing the scene on this billboard. It has the picture of two eyes belonging to a Dr. T.J. Eckleburg. They are vibrant-blue and one yard tall. I thought the mention to such specifications on a simple billboard in the middle of nowhere was a bit peculiar.
Nick and Tom are on a train in this scene on their way to New York when Tom convinces Nick to get off with him so he can finally meet his mistress; imaginably uncomfortably. Once the two depart the train, they work their way to a car repair shopped owned by a man named George Wilson who happens to also be Myrtle's husband. It sounds like she has a lot of explaining to do.
